My Phi Tau

50th

From the 50th Anniversary Planning chair:

Believe it or not, your Phi Tau chapter at Bowling Green State University will soon be turning 50 years old.  The chapter cannot let this milestone pass by without a celebration and a grand reunion of all the brothers who passed through the chapter's doors.  I have been working closely without a group of Beta Tau alumni to plan a fun-filled weekend in which we can all return and renew the sense of brotherhood that exists here at BG.  We want you and your special guest to join us at your alma mater to reunite with your old friends.  This page highlights the activities that are being planned for the weekend and includes several steps you can take to help us with our plans.

Fraternally yours,

Tim Smith

What Can You Do to Help?
  • First, commit to this date in Bowling Green on your calendar.
  • Second, contat those brothers you were with in the chapter and encourage them to join you.
  • Finally, drop us a line telling us you will be attending the event.

Itinerary

Friday, September 8, 2000:
We realize that Friday will be the day that you arrive and become situated once  gain in Bowling Green.  We have reserved the entire Falcon Plaza Motel in order to accommodate you and bring you closer to all of your friends, as well as the BGSU campus.  Reservations at $69 + tax per night can be made directly with the Falcon Plaza by calling (419)352-4671 (mention Phi Kappa Tau).  At 5 o'clock there will be a reception at the motel followed by a bar-b-que at the chapter house and a tour of the facility.  Later, we are returning to the Falcon Plaza for a party and fellowship.

Saturday, September 9, 2000:
Saturday will begin with the reopening of the reception area of the motel for latecomers.  A brunch featuring Chris Cakes will be served in Olscamp Hall on campus at 10:00 followed by a group photo at 11:00.  After the picture, we will hold a chapter meeting in Olscamp Hall featuring undergraduate officer reports, memorable experiences of alumni, and a report from Phi Kappa Tau's National President.  During this meeting we will have arranged bus and walking tours for the ladies and the Black Swamp Art Festival which will be held downtown.  The evening brings a reception, dinner and a cash bar at Olscamp (baby-sitters will be provided).  Following dinner, Master of Ceremonies (our own) Bill Jenkins will introduce speakers which include Phi Kappa Tau's Executive Director, BGSU's President and Bowling Green's Mayor.  Bill will also conduct a Rechartering Ceremony.

Sunday, September 10, 2000:
Farewells can be offered over a continental breakfast at the Falcon Plaza.  You are also welcome to return to the chapter house for another look around and to relive some of the great memories that we all had at Phi Kappa Tau.
